We Will Continue With the Format Used Last Year:
*1 class with 2 flights— flighting will be based off of qualification score. Once flights are determined there will be bracketing for each flight for head to head matches to determine who advances to the shoot ups.
*payout will be to top 3 of each flight with 60% of payback going to flight 1 and 40% payout to flight 2.
*We will continue to have 11am and 1pm line time options
REGISTRATION:
• Cost is $50.00 per shooter paid at check in the day of the event
• Registration is open to the first 36 registered archers per line time
•line time options will be 11am or 1pm
• Shoot offs will take place after completion of the 1pm line after all qualifying scores have been tabulated.
• Pre-register for the shoot on the Possum Hollow facebook event page, message Colton Hamilton on Facebook, or by calling/texting Beverly Hamilton at (724)856-9125-- we will be keeping a running list of registered archers on the facebook event page, please specify which line time you would like when registering.
PAY OUT:
• 80% payback — 60% of payback to flight 1 and 40% of payback to flight 2.
• pay outs will be given to the top 3 archers in each flight.
RULES:
• No restrictions on compound bow set up or arrow size—run what you brung!
• Scorecards must be double scored, totaled and signed before being turned in.
PPRACTICE/WARM UP:
• There will be open practice as time allows prior to both shooting lines, open practice will end 10 minutes prior to the start of each line.
• There will be 2 ends of Official Practice before the qualification rounds begin.
QUALIFICATION ROUND:
•Qualification will be a Lancaster 300 round— X’s will count as 11 points for a total possible score of 330.
• shot clock will be running and shooters will be allowed 2 minutes 30 seconds for each end.
• Shots triggered before or after timer will not count
*dropped/misfired arrows that are behind the tape line may be re-shot, do not cross the shooting line to retrieve your dropped arrow.
• Witnessed bounce outs or witnessed physical interference by another archer can be re-shot.
• If an archer shoots two shots in the same target they will score lowest score for that target and a zero for the other arrow, assuming the archer hit what they shot at; no score for someone else's target face.
• 3-4 shooters per clipboard, double scoring, arrows are called by the majority of the group— Archers can request a Line Judge if he/she disagrees with the group call; Line Judge ruling is final.
• Archer's are required to replace target face at Line Judge’s discretion; target face may be repaired between ends.
• Archer's are required to number targets (1, 2 and 3) in the order they are being shot.
• 1st, 2nd & 3rd arrows out of the 11 ring must be recorded—please mark and score arrows in the order targets are being shot.
• Do not touch any arrow or target face until all scores have been called & recorded accurately on the scorecard for your bale.
• Ties will be broke based on score, # of 11's, then the 1st arrow out of highest scoring ring (longest clean wins).
• Archer may miss up to 2 ends for equipment failure; score will be made up at the end: No practice ends before resuming with the group
HEAD TO HEAD SHOOT OFF
•ALL archers completing a qualifying score will advance to the shoot off.
• shoot off flight and bracket position will be determined by qualifying score.
• Elimination Rounds will consist of 3 ends of 3 shots (9 arrows) in a bracket style format— each flight will have separate brackets.
• Elimination rounds will be timed and shooter will be allowed 2 minutes 30 seconds per end.
• Number of archers advancing to the shoot up will be based off of number of registered participants.
• In the event of an odd number of shooters, byes will be given to top ranked shooter(s) as needed. Shooter(s) receiving the bye will be awarded 99 points toward their cumulative score for that elimination round.
*Ties will be broke by score, then on highest # of 11's, and finally with a 1 arrow shoot-off closest to center.
SHOOT UP
• The number of shooters in the shoot up for each flight will be based on number of registered participants.
• Archers making the shoot up will be re-bracketed based off of cumulative score consisting of qualification round and all elimination round totals combined.
• For the shoot up, archers will shoot off from bottom position up, ex: #8 vs #7 winner advances to shoot against #6, etc.
• Archers will move up the bracket as matches are won.
• Rounds will consist of 2 ends of 3 shots (6 arrows).
• Shooters can have up to 2 ends of 6 practice shots while on deck for their match in an open shooting lane.
• Shoot up rounds are scored on scorecards by our line judges
• All Shoot-Up Final matches will be shot alternating arrows with 30 second time limit for each shot.
• For the final shoot up matches, all tie scores will be broken by a 1 Arrow Shoot-Off for up to 3 shots (2 shots by score then 3rd shot closest to center X/11 ring).— in the shoot up ties are are not broken by # of bonus rings, you must win by higher score.
• archers in the Shoot-Up Finals can choose to shoot for the 12-ring; a 1.5cm white dot located at six o’clock below the gold in-between the seven and eight ring on the target face
• Archers must call the 12-ring before shooting it, otherwise the 12-ring is invalid and the arrow will be scored in the ring that the arrow hits.
• Archers can only shoot and call the 12-ring once per end
• Maximum possible score of 68 (if a 12 is shot in each end)
• For 1 arrow shoot offs to break any ties the 12-ring is in play for 1st & 2nd arrows, archers must call the 12-ring prior to shooting that arrow, 3rd arrow is scored closest to X/11-ring
• No provision for equipment failure can be given during any Shoot-Up Round
BONUS "LUCKY SHOT"
• $5 buy in at the time of registration for the closest arrow to center on final shot of archers #3 target during qualification Round. Shooter with the shot closest to center wins 100% of buy in pot.
• the kitchen will be open during the entire event, we will also have a 50/50 raffle drawing.
• Our club has a large area for spectators who wish to come and watch the event!
