The Northeast Ocean Race Symposium returns for its fourth edition, bringing together sailors, racers, and offshore enthusiasts from across the region.
We’re excited to announce Ronnie Simpson as the NORS 2026 keynote speaker. Ronnie is a professional sailor and former skipper of the Open50 Shipyard Brewing, which competed in the inaugural Global Solo Challenge (2023–24)—a nonstop, single-handed race around the world.
After sailing most of the race in third place and rounding all three Great Capes, Ronnie was dismasted after Cape Horn and forced to retire. At NORS, he’ll speak candidly about the challenges, lessons, and mental demands of solo ocean racing—and how that experience is informing his campaign to race the 2027 Global Solo Challenge on a Class 40.
