Please note that we are a very easy going group and not super fast, we wait for everyone so everyone feels included. We take regular breaks, pop in for a coffee, take a lot of pictures and most importantly thoroughly enjoy the day rather than rush from A to B.
***

Cheshunt
This town will be our starting point, we will head out of train station directly towards River Lee Country park

Lee Valley White Water Centre
We will have a coffee and toilet break as they have a fabulous cafe which was built for the Olympics. We will check out the kayakers on the White Water centre

Lee Valley Wildlife Discovery centre
We may detour here if everyone fancies the detour, around 1.5k extra

Lee Valley
Are you a nature lover? The open spaces in the parkland create a range of different habitats from wetlands to woodlands. Along the river you might spot Kingfisher or amongst the reeds Water Rail and Bittern.

Waltham Abbey
King Harold Godwinson, England's last Anglo-Saxon king, had strong ties to Waltham Abbey, establishing a collegiate church there and being its traditional burial site after his death at the Battle of Hastings in 1066, though his actual tomb's location remains a historical mystery, with claims pointing to the Abbey's church grounds where a memorial exists, and the town now hosts events and a school named in his honour.

Broxbourne
We may stop at The Crown pub for refreshments here

We finish our last stretch of this wonderful hike by walking quite a fair bit along the canal admiring the gorgeous Broxbourne riverside houses and canal boats (is so nice to see how people live on these canal boats)
