Join us for a special, small-group pie-making experience that begins at Hillcrest Orchard and ends in the warm kitchen of a beloved local chef. With guidance from Karen Lou and the orchard’s owner, we’ll select fresh peaches from the orchard’s abundance—then head to Karen Lou’s home to bake together. This is the first in a series of intimate cooking gatherings hosted by Savor Amish Country—don’t miss it!
Who:Hosted by Savor Amish Country, your guide for curated, insider experiences. You'll be welcomed into the home kitchen of Karen Lou, a local chef who was raised Amish and has spent nearly 30 years at Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen. Her love for cooking and warm hospitality shine through in every dish she shares.
What:🍑 Begin at Hillcrest Orchard, where Karen Lou and the orchard’s owner will help us choose the freshest peaches for our pies.🥧 Then head to Karen Lou’s home kitchen for a hands-on baking class where we’ll make a half-sized Peach Custard Pie together. (You’ll get the full recipe and notes to double it at home!)📖 Enjoy stories, baking tips, and the company of others as we create something delicious side by side.
