When a threat shows up in the real world, you won’t get a warm-up string of fire and a shot timer. You’ll get surprise, confusion, denial, and seconds to decide what to do next.
Concealed Carry Defensive Scenarios – Force on Force is a hands-on, scenario-based training day hosted by Apex Defense Group with instructor assistance form Mining Ridge Armory designed for responsible concealed carriers and protectors who want to see how their skills hold up when the targets move, talk, and fight back. This is a non-live-fire course using vetted force-on-force training tools under strict safety protocols.
Across the day, you’ll work through carefully designed scenarios drawn from real-world incidents: verbal confrontations, unknown contacts, robberies, assaults, and more. You’ll get to test your ability to:
- Recognize pre-attack indicators and manage distance.
- Use verbal skills, positioning, and movement to avoid or break contact.
- Make fast shoot / no-shoot decisions under stress.
- Fight from concealment when avoidance and de-escalation are no longer enough.
- Deal with the immediate aftermath of a defensive encounter.
You’ll receive coaching and debriefs after each scenario so you understand what worked, what didn’t, and why, and how to adjust your training and daily carry habits.
Note: This is not a beginner pistol course. There are no live rounds fired, but students should already understand basic handgun safety, legal and moral concealed carry concepts, and have some experience carrying or preparing to carry concealed.

Gear & Equipment:
All force-on-force training weapons and safety equipment are provided by Apex Defense Group. If you already own quality airsoft or similar training gear, you may bring it for potential use after instructor inspection and approval.
Required:
-Eye protection (clear wraparound or full-seal; prescription glasses are okay with over-glasses eye pro).
- Mouthguard or full-face protection if you have it (ADG will have some safety gear on site).
- Clothing similar to your real-world carry setup (belt, pants, cover garment, sturdy footwear).
- Water, snacks, and any medications you need for a full training day.
- Pen and notebook.
Strongly Recommended:
- Groin protection and gloves (light impact gloves are fine).
- Long sleeves / layers you don’t mind getting marked by training hits.
Safety & Live Weapons Policy:
This is a strict non-live-fire class. All live firearms, live ammunition, knives, and other defensive tools will be secured outside the training area. Students and instructors will undergo a weapons check before scenarios begin. Violating safety rules is grounds for removal from the class.
