- **Event Description**: A unique invitation to visit some of South Oxfordshire and West Berkshire’s beautiful and rarely open gardens.About this EventHouse &amp; Garden’s Clare Foster has hand-picked seven private gardens to open their gates on June 18th, including her own cottage garden in Upper Basildon.The day includes coffee on arrival, a delicious two course lunch at the Coaching Barn in Little Stoke, with the chance to tour the flower fields at the adjacent Green &amp; Gorgeous farm.Optional Donations for Maggie’s are gratefully received (e.g. £75)Thanks to the superb generosity of our kind sponsors, garden hosts and volunteers we will be able to give 100% of your optional donation directly to Maggie’s Oxford.£75 could help someone recently diagnosed with cancer prepare mentally and physically for treatment, with our prehabilitation programme£100 could fund a workshop for eight people dealing with the impact of menopause brought on by cancer treatment£190 could provide expert support for someone dealing with the uncertainty of advanced cancer for a yearEvent Details:The day starts at the Coaching Barn in Little Stoke, where we will meet for coffee at 9.30am. Here you will receive a map and descriptions of the open gardens. There are two clusters of gardens, one around Ipsden and one around Upper Basildon, and you are free to visit the gardens in your own time in whichever order you wish, returning for a delicious lunch at the Coaching Barn between 12pm and 2pm.In addition, Rachel Siegfried of Green &amp; Gorgeous Flower Farm (which is adjacent to the Coaching Barn) will give a brief tour of her flower fields at midday, and you are welcome to wander around the flower farm between 12pm and 2pm. She will be selling plants and seeds, and we will also have a few select stalls in the barn should you wish to do a little shopping.Participating gardens include:Pyt House near Ashampstead, with pleached topiary, formal borders and a new wildflower meadow spreading out on the hillside above the houseFroomes House in Upper Basildon, the home of House &amp; Garden’s garden editor Clare Foster, who has made a plant-filled cottage garden on a third of an acreHailey House in Ipsden with a historic garden designed by Sylvia Crowe and many fine treesThe Piano House in Goring, a contemporary garden designed by Acres Wild for an architect-designed house.Itinerary9.30am: Arrival and Coffee10am-12pm: Morning garden visits12pm: Tour of Green &amp; Gorgeous Flower Farm12-2pm: Lunch in the Coaching Barn2.30-5pm: Afternoon garden visitsThe Coaching Barn, Little Stoke, OX10 6AXGarden addresses will be supplied on the day.
