'To enter into the forest of wood is to embark on a voyage in time, into the history of every single tree and every year of its life.' – Penone, 1991
A beautiful poetry-walk from the Underground Gallery to Upper Lake, stopping off along the way to hear a selection of poems, contemplations, texts and writings by Giuseppe Penone, performed by artist Natalie Bellingham.
Inspired by trees and forests, and our relationship to them, the artist’s writings have accompanied his works since 1968. Translated from Italian and taken from the artist's publication Writings: 1968-2008, these powerful texts will be shared alongside his sculptures and within the woodlands at YSP.
