- **Event Description**: It is with great excitement that we invite you to come sing with us on Saturday, May 23! Join us in Wakefield, QC, at the Fairbairn House, from 1 to 4 PM. We'll sing from the 2025 Sacred Harp edition, have snacks and be merry!


If you've been curious about Shape Note/Sacred Harp and haven't sung it yet, this is the perfect time to try it out. We'll offer an introduction in the beginning of the singing and we have some books to lend you.


It's completely free to attend! Donations are welcome (in cash or e-transfer) on the day-of to help us pay for our All-Day Singing coming up in October at the Rupert Hall.

Accessibility: The Fairbairn House is a heritage home turned museum that is on a beautiful piece of land by the river and the red covered bridge that crosses it, in Wakefield. We'll sing in a barn next to the house. The barn as a ramp going into it and is wheelchair accessible. Please let us know in advance if the stage is not accessible for you. There is a wheelchair-accessible porta potty in the gravel parking lot near the barn. Please write us for more information & for any concerns.


COVID safety: Do not attend if you have any respiratory illness symptoms. You are welcome to wear a respirator/mask and hand sanitizer will be provided.

C’est avec grande trépidation que nous vous invitons à chanter avec en l’honneur du printemps le samedi 23 mai! Rejoignez-nous à la maison Fairbairn à Wakefield de 13h à 16h. Nous chanterons de l’édition de 2025 du livre de chant Sacred Harp et partagerons des encas.


Si vous n’avez jamais chanter Shape Note ceci est l’occasion idéale pour découvrir cette tradition multi centenaire de chant communautaire à quatre voix. Nous offrirons une introduction au début du chant et nous aurons des livres à prêter.


L’événement est gratuit, mais nous acceptons les dons (en argent comptant ou par transfer interact) le jour-même pour nous aider à financer notre journée de chant annuelle en octobre, au centre communautaire de Rupert.


Pour celleux qui viennent de l’extérieur du coin et qui aimeraient rester le soir à coucher, vous pouvez nous écrire à wakefieldsacredharp@gmail.com.


Accessibilité : La Maison Fairbairn est une demeure patrimoniale devenue musée et qui est située sur un magnifique terrain prêt de la rivière et du pont couvert qui la traverse. Nous chanterons dans une grande adjacente à la maison et pas très loin du stationnement. Une rampe d’accès mène à la grange et une toilette portable accessible aux fauteuils roulant se trouve dans le stationnement. Si vous avez des questions par rapport à l’accessibilité du lieu ou pour toute autre information, SVP nous écrire.


COVID : SVP de pas venir si vous avez quelconque symptôme d’une infection respiratoire. Des masques et du désinfectant à main seront présent sur le lieu si vous le désirez.
