Nicki Allan Quintet

Prepare yourselves, jazz lovers – Leeds’ sassiest export since Yorkshire Tea with oat milk is rolling into town! The Nicki Allan Quintet are bringing their soulful swing, funkified grooves and blistering scattin’ sass to Wakefield Jazz. Fronted by the unstoppable Nicki Allan – part Diana Krall, part Nina Simone, part musical wizard – expect vocal fireworks, piano mischief and the kind of groove that makes your socks roll themselves down.

Backed by a band so tight they could squeeze into a phone box – Rod Mason (sax), Kevin Holborough (trombone), Adrian Knowles (double bass) and John Settle (drums) – this northern jazz force of nature will serve up everything from the Great American Songbook to original tunes with serious pizzazz.

It’s jazz, but with a Yorkshire accent. Come for the class, stay for the scat. Don’t forget your jazz hands. Or your actual hands. Just come.
