Birdwatching Classes: wetland and woodland birds

Take the opportunity of visiting a private hide at Swillington Ings to watch winter wildfowl and waders then stoll along nearby paths to listen to winter bird songs and calls. Free refreshments and a bird list are available at the end of the walk.

Transport and meeting arrangements

Booking essential to ensure groups are small and to give a better birdwatching experience.

Book your place in my minibus which leaves at 08:00 at the Moor Allerton Centre on the Leeds outer ring road if you'd like transport to the venue otherwise meet for optional breakfast at 09:00 in Rothwell (details of exact location will be send before the walk).

More information will be provided by email by the organiser before the event.

What to expect

Easy walking on flat ground but paths will be muddy in places. There are toilets at the cafe but not on site.

Classes are designed for adult beginners and those wanting to improve their birdwatching skills

Please don't buy binoculars especially for the event. Binoculars are available to borrow by arrangement

Birdwatching events are not usually cancelled due to weather conditions, if the venue isn't suitable then another will be chosen in its place.
