- **Event Name**: Annual General Meeting & Summer Celebration
- **Event Start and End Date**: Mon, 22 Jun, 2026 at 11:00 am – Mon, 22 Jun, 2026 at 02:30 pm
- **Event Description**: I am writing to invite all members, stakeholders, supporters, and friends to our AGM and Summer Celebration, which is taking place at 11am on Monday 22nd June, in the Conference Room here at the wonderful St. Swithun’s Community Centre, Arncliffe Road, Wakefield, WF1 4RR.

We will hear about the charity's achievements last year, and conduct the formal business of the AGM first, and I am delighted to confirm that we will be joined by:

•	Our President, Lord St. Oswald, who will share his thoughts on the successes and achievements of the previous year.
•	Our Trustee and former Mayor of Wakefield 2025-26, Maureen Tennant-King, who will reflect on her year as Mayor and will be presenting us with a cheque for the fundraising she has done for us during her Mayoral year.
•	Dream Time Creative and the Forgotten Women of Wakefield's Volunteer Heritage Team, Round Our Way, who will be bringing to life the stories of Edith Wright and Emily Fennell, two extraordinary women without whom Wakefield District Sight Aid would not exist today.

After we have heard from our wonderful guest speakers, we will share a hot, home-made, vegetarian lunch together. After lunch we will move to the Activities Hall where we invite you to join us for accessible games such as dominoes, boccia bowls, kurling, and more. We expect the event to finish at 2.30pm.

I would love for you to join us. If you haven’t already, please RSVP to me by Monday 15th June at the latest, letting me know how many people will be attending for catering purposes and whether you have any dietary or access requirements. Please note that access to St. Swithun’s is step-free and accessible toilet facilities are available. Parking is available roadside (unrestricted and free) if the small free car park to the rear of the building (off Kilnsey Road) is full.

The event is completely free thanks to some generous sponsorship, and all are welcome.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm wishes,

Hayley (Chief Executive Officer)
