Dylan Sevey is originally from Wakefield, Rhode Island. Although he had been active for many years as a drummer in various local bands, he always crafted his own songs behind the scenes. In 2012, he formed a group to bring these songs to life. While most bands base their sound on one or two influences, Dylan Sevey & The Gentlemen create theirs by exploring multiple musical avenues and blending them with remarkable cohesiveness. With the five members drawing from classic rock, folk, blues, jazz, and other genres, the Gentlemen’s diverse and unique sound has something for everyone. This has led to them opening for acts such as Alejandro Escovedo, Sarah Borges, Jessica Lea Mayfield, T. Hardy Morris & The Hardknocks, The Schemers, The Mallett Brothers Band, and more. Their 2013 debut album, Join The Club, was described as sounding “wise beyond their years” (Chris Conti, The Providence Phoenix). John Fuzek from Motif Magazine added, “Join The Club…is chockfull of tasty tunes and is one of the best locally produced CDs I have heard in a long time.” Tony Pacitti made flattering comparisons in East Side Monthly, calling the album “a sonic quilt of country ballads, sleazy bar band blues and classic folk-rock that borrows from the likes of The Band, Bob Dylan and the White Stripes.” Sevey now lives in Nashville and makes a living playing drums for Ron Gallo. As a result, it’s a special occasion when he returns home to reunite the band. Get your tickets in advance—this one will sell out.
