During the tree seedling giveaway, Urban Forestry Division members, Town staff and volunteers will distribute over 3,300 dogwood, persimmon, and oak seedlings - while they last - in the Town Hall parking lot, 301 S. Brooks St. Forest Fest begins at 10 a.m., so anyone interested in obtaining free tree seedlings is encouraged to arrive at the start of the event. 

In addition to distributing the tree seedlings, volunteers will be on hand to help residents decide which seedlings grow best in their respective yard conditions, demonstrate proper mulching and pruning techniques and discuss simple, yet effective tree care practices. The UFB is encouraging residents to help protect the environment by bringing their own reusable shopping tote or other environmentally-friendly bag when they pick up their seedlings. 

The tree seedlings will be given away on a first-come, first serve basis. Reservations and sign-ups prior to the event will not be accepted.
