Have you ever wanted to weave your very own kete? Or weave a kete for a friend or relation they will have for years to use in multiple ways on many occasions? Do you want to weave a taonga - treasure that will be handed down through the generations in your whanau - family? Weave your own kete - bag, basket, using traditional Māori Weaving Techniques. Learn ngā tikanga o te harakeke - how I harvest and prepare the harakeke and whenu - weaving strips. I prepare the harakeke for you. You spend a relaxing day weaving with me (your friends/whanau) and take home your very own Kete. Kete are suitable projects for beginners because I will guide you from start to finish. You will enjoy creating in a fun and supportive environment. Bring your own lunch, or KareNZ Kitz is near the supermarket, cafes and takeaways.
