Our annual Matariki exhibition this year is a celebration of events in one evening! Opening night 9th July 5-7pm all welcome

In our main gallery is an exhibition from our Raranga Flax Weaving class tutored by Maria Kaka. This will be a collaborative installation of a woven fishing net, Kupenga.

Spread through our other gallery rooms are local artists, and also a 'Glow in the Dark Matariki' display by Craftafternoon Library Kids in the Basement Gallery. 

During the opening celebrations we will have Anne Coppell from Helensville Library doing a Matariki book reading in the Glow in the Dark room, which will also host the Library's annual Teddy Sleep over. Book reading starts at 4pm and we will have our Giant Wheke as seating so bring the kids! 

Opening celebrations of Kupenga O Matariki kicks off at 5pm with  live weaving to join in by Maria Kaka.
