Omarama Rodeo is an affiliated club of the New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association.
Our rodeo is held every year on December 28, at our purpose built grounds on Ben Omar Road.
Our events include, Bareback Bronc, Saddle Bronc, Rope & Tie, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, Team Roping and Bull Riding.
The competition has three different catergories- Junior for riders under 15 years old, 2nd Division for riders over 15 but have not yet earnt their "break open" amount in Prize money- also called the Rookie division. then Open- this is for those riders who have won their Break open amount in their event.
On site we have food vendors, a public bar, childs colouring in area, rodeo club merchandise for purchase all set in the natural amphitheater over looking the arena.
Please Note Cell Phone reception is minimal and due to this we cannot offer EFTPOS. Please bring Cash.
Entry Prices are:
Adult (15 & Over) $25
Youth (10-15) $10
Under 10 Free
No BYO, Dogs or Glass. But what you can bring is sunscreen, a hat, some seats, a picnic all to enjoy the day of action packed rodeo skill.
