Get ready for gourd-speed thrills at the annual SeptOberfest Pumpkin Derby—where creativity meets competition in the most pumpkin-powered race of the season! Whether you're racing to win or just here for the laughs, this fall favorite is fun for all ages.
🛞 Race Car Kit Pickup:
Pumpkin Derby Race Car Kits are available for $15.00 and include wheels, spacers, axles, and axle caps. Kits can be picked up starting September 30 at the Wabasha Kellogg Chamber of Commerce & CVB office (257 W Main Street, Wabasha). Register online here:

🎨 Derby Day Schedule – Sunday, October 5
11:00 AM – Kids Pumpkin Decorating Party
Decorate a pie pumpkin for the race or just for fun!
(Pre-decorated pumpkins welcome. Limited decorations available on site.)
11:30 AM – Pumpkin Derby Showcase & Check-In
Show off your pumpkin creation and get race-day ready!
1:00 PM – RACE TIME!
Pumpkins hit the track in two divisions: Open and Unlimited
🚗 Open Division Rules:
One pumpkin per racer
No chassis or non-pumpkin bases (no skateboards, chairs, etc.)
Two independent axles inserted through the pumpkin with wheels attached
Pumpkins must be fully decorated, dry, and race-ready by 1 PM
🏆 Prizes – Open Division
Best Decorated: 1st $50 | 2nd $25 | 3rd $10
Fastest Pumpkin: 1st $50 | 2nd $25 | 3rd $10
🚀 Unlimited Division Rules:
No design restrictions (except: gravity-powered only!)
