William T. Campbell
Get inspired by the art on view in our galleries, and work with exhibiting artist William T. Campbell to bring landscapes to life using chalk pastels.
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore a variety of pastel techniques with hard and soft pastels to create a landscape from a reference photograph. The session begins with a demonstration by Campbell, who will guide you through methods for building form, layering color, and capturing light in a landscape. Then, you’ll have time to create your own pastel painting, with plenty of one-on-one guidance and feedback along the way.
This workshop offers a welcoming space to explore pastels, whether you're building on existing skills or trying something new. Some drawing experience is helpful but not required.
With personalized guidance and dedicated studio time, participants will leave with a completed or in-progress landscape, a stronger command of materials and tools, and increased confidence in their creative practice.
