Tale for Two is an extension of our Listening Ears Program which pairs a young reader with an animal to make the experience of reading more fun. By bringing the readers to our shelter, our adoptable cats, dogs and small animals get to benefit from the positive presence of a child, boosting confidence in both the pet and the person. This in-shelter reading program is open to youth ages 6-13, and visits take place on Monday afternoons between 4pm and 5pm.

Registrants have the option to purchase a single Tale for Two visit or can become a Tale for Two Club Member. A single visit registration is $7 includes a book and sidewalk chalk. Tale for Two Club Memberships are $30 and receives 5 visits, a stuffed animal, a book and sidewalk chalk. To join, reserve your club membership during registration. Please note, if you have more than 1 child "reader" in your party, you will need to register each child separately. Visits can be scheduled in advance, and children are invited to bring their own books, choose from the VBSPCA Library or read their new free book.
