Ne kartą eksperimentavę kartu ir susitikę įvairių kolektyvų sudėtyse, šie trys jauni ir veržlūs muzikantai nusprendė suvienyti jėgas ir debiutuoti kaip džiazo trio. Atsisakę harmoniją rodančio instrumento, jie natų sąskambius ir ritmų derinius perteikia tik dvejais monofoniniais instrumentais ir būgnų komplektu. Programoje girdima džiazo tradicija, pateikta šiais laikais aktualiu formatu — naujomis kompozicijomis ar džiazo standartų aranžuotėmis.
Trijulės iniciatorius Karolis Šarkus — jaunos Lietuvos džiazo kartos saksofonistas bei kompozitorius, jungiantis džiazo tradiciją ir modernų skambesį. Studijavęs Olandijoje ir JAV, šiuo metu jis aktyviai koncertuoja Lietuvoje ir už jos ribų, o nesenai laimėjo prestižinius „Premio Internazionale Massimo Urbani“ (Italija) ir „Big Band Composition Contest for Young Baltic Composers“ (Latvija) konkursus. Kontrabosistas Gediminas Stepanavičius — labai aktyvus improvizacinės ir šiuolaikinės muzikos atlikėjas, kartu su Karoliu studijavęs Amsterdamo konservatorijoje. Domantas Razmus – Lietuvos jaunosios kartos džiazo ir improvizacinės muzikos būgnininkas ir perkusininkas. Šiuo metu jis aktyviai plėtoja unikalų projektą, kuriame jungia sensorinę perkusiją ir vizualizacijas. Domantą scenoje galima išvysti su „Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble“ ir kitais kolektyvais.

Having experimented together and met in various ensemble configurations, these three young and dynamic musicians decided to join forces and debut as a jazz trio. Having given up an instrument capable of showing harmony, they convey the interplay of notes and rhythmic combinations using only two monophonic instruments and a drum kit. The program features jazz tradition presented in a format relevant to today — through new compositions or arrangements of jazz standards.

The trio’s initiator, Karolis Šarkus, is a saxophonist and composer of the young Lithuanian jazz generation, combining jazz tradition with a modern sound. Having studied in the Netherlands and the USA, he currently performs actively both in Lithuania and abroad, and recently won the prestigious “Premio Internazionale Massimo Urbani” competition (Italy) and the “Big Band Composition Contest for Young Baltic Composers” (Latvia). Double bassist Gediminas Stepanavičius is a highly active performer of improvisational and contemporary music, who studied together with Karolis at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Domantas Razmus is a drummer and percussionist of Lithuania’s young generation of jazz and improvisational music. He is currently actively developing a unique project that combines sensory percussion and visualizations. Domantas can be seen on stage with the “Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble” and other ensembles.
