Šiaurės Reinas–Vestfalija (NRW) yra tankiausiai apgyvendinta Vokietijos federacinė žemė. Natūralu, kad pramoninis regionas tarp Kelno, Diuseldorfo ir Rūro srities taip pat turi stiprią džiazo sceną.
Jau daugiau nei 15 metų Peteris Weissas ir Wolfgangas Schmidtke dirba su Jazzpool NRW, muzikantų kolektyvu, kuris suburia džiazo atlikėjus iš visos Europos. Kartą per metus jie suformuoja ansamblį kartu su Europos šalies partnerės muzikantais, parengia naują programą ir išvyksta į trumpą turą. Jie grojo su Julianu Argüellesu Londone, su Jareku Śmietana Krokuvoje, su Glauco Venieriu Palerme ir su João Moreira Lisabonoje — ir tai tik keli pavyzdžiai.
2026 metais Jazzpool NRW priims du svečius iš Lietuvos: Leonidą Šinkarenko ir Andrių Savčenko, abu neabejotinai svarbios figūros Lietuvos džiazo scenoje. Kartu su kolegomis iš Vokietijos jie pristatys programą, aiškiai nukreiptą į 8-ojo ir 9-ojo dešimtmečių fusion džiazo atgaivinimą.
Anke Lucks ir Raissa Mehner yra dvi svarbios Vokietijos improvizacinės scenos atstovės. Kartu su jomis visas 6 muzikų kolektyvas laisvai improvizuos ant energingų fusion džiazo ritmų, kurį, perfrazuojant Miles Davis, būtų galima pavadinti “Witches Brew”. Tačiau neapsigaukite, ši muzika nebus žvilgsnis į praeitį. Anaiptol, tai bus žingsnis į priekį, atsispyriantis nuo tvirto tradicijų pagrindo.
Koncertas organizuojamas bendradarbiaujant su Nida Jazz Maratonu.

North Reine-Westphalia (NRW) is the most populous federal state in Germany. And naturally, the industrial region between Cologne, Düsseldorf, and the Ruhr area also has a strong jazz scene.
For more than 15 years, Peter Weiss and Wolfgang Schmidtke have worked with Jazzpool NRW, a collective of musicians that brings together jazz artists from all over Europe. Once a year, the two form an ensemble with a European partner country, develop a new program, and go on a short tour. They have played with Julian Argüelles in London, with Jarek Śmietana in Kraków, with Glauco Venier in Palermo, and with João Moreira in Lisbon—just to name a few.
In 2026, Jazzpool NRW will welcome two guests from Lithuania: Leonid Šinkarenko and Andrius Savchenko, both unquestionably key figures of the Lithuanian jazz scene. Together with their colleagues from Germany, they present a program with a clear connection to fusion jazz of the 1970s and 80s. Of particular interest will be how solos unfold over the funky grooves of the rhythm section—solos that are not typically associated with fusion.
Anke Lucks and Raissa Mehner are two important representatives of the German improvisation scene. The ambition to move freely over explosive rhythms may lead to a result that one might describe—borrowing from Miles Davis—as a “Witches Brew.” Fusion, yes, but not looking backward. With their two friends from Lithuania, Jazzpool NRW makes music that is absolutely of its time.
The concert is organized in collaboration with Nida Jazz Marathon.
