Eglės Valentinavičienės paroda „Būsena: Nulis. Jau ne padaras, dar ne žmogus“

Gruodžio 5 d. 18 val. UMI galerijoje atidaroma keramikės Eglės Valentinavičienės paroda „Būsena: Nulis. Jau ne padaras, dar ne žmogus“. Lankytojus ekspozicija pasitinka lauke - šviesą skleidžianti vabalų instaliacija traukia užeiti, patirti. 

Ant galerijos fasado ropojantys metaliniai vabalai - tarsi pasimetusių sielų fragmentai, virtę primityviosiomis, instinktų valdomomis būtybėmis, kviečia sugrįžti į šviesą, iš kurios visi esame atėję. Aptakios, tirpstančios, beveik plastiškos galerijos viduje eksponuojamų E. Valentinavičienės kūrinių formos liudija būseną, kai virsmas nesibaigia net virtus žmogumi. Tai ne užbaigti kūnai, o gyvi procesai – skulptūros, kurios vis dar prisimena, kad kažkada buvo molis.

Ši paroda šiuolaikinė Kalėdų misterija be sentimentų, be angelų, be dovanų popieriaus. Tai kvietimas sugrįžti į nulinę būseną, kurioje kiekvienas gali iš naujo prisiminti, kad žmogumi tampama ne kartą – o tiek kartų, kiek kartų išdrįsti išlįsti iš kiauto.

„Būsena: Nulis. Jau ne padaras, dar ne žmogus“ – tai atvirkštinė F. Kafkos „Metamorfozė“, kelionė ne į žmogiškumo praradimą, o į jo atgimimą – iš primityvaus ropojimo į sąmoningą judėjimą šviesos link. Paroda pasakoja apie būseną, kai iš instinkto ima dygti supratimo daigas, kai siela, dar būdama ribota ir netobula, girdi kvietimą tapti žmogumi.

Parodą lydi šeštadieniniai grupiniai molio lipdymo užsiėmimai su menininke E. Valentinavičiene. 

Eglė Valentinavičienė (g. 1989) – baigė keramikos studijas VDA, šiuo metu yra Užupio meno inkubatoriaus rezidentė. Tai yra trečioji personalinė kūrėjos paroda. Menininkei patinka atskleisti organiškas ir tuo pačiu mistiškas figūras, esančias judesyje. Molio medžiagą kūrėja naudoja ties jos galimybių riba, eksperimentuoja, dirba be išankstinių eskizų, dažnai tik pasikliaudama nuojauta ir atsitiktinumu. 

Paroda veiks iki sausio 16 d.

On December 5 at 6 p.m., the UMI gallery will open an exhibition by ceramic artist Eglė Valentinavičienė, “State: Zero. No Longer a Creature, Not Yet a Human” Visitors are greeted by the exhibition outdoors — a light-emitting beetle installation draws one to enter and to experience. 

The metal beetles crawling across the gallery façade — like fragments of lost souls transformed into primitive, instinct-driven beings — invite one to return to the light from which we all have come. The smooth, melting, almost plastic forms of E. Valentinavičienė’s works displayed inside the gallery testify to a state in which transformation does not end even after becoming human. These are not completed bodies but living processes — sculptures that still remember they were once clay.

This exhibition is a contemporary Christmas mystery without sentiment, without angels, without wrapping paper. It is an invitation to return to the zero state, in which each person can once again remember that one becomes human not just once — but as many times as one dares to emerge from the shell.

“State: Zero. No Longer a Creature, Not Yet a Human” is a reverse Metamorphosis of F. Kafka — a journey not toward the loss of humanity, but toward its rebirth — from primitive crawling to conscious movement toward the light. The exhibition tells of a state in which a sprout of understanding begins to grow from instinct, when the soul, still limited and imperfect, hears the call to become human.

The exhibition is accompanied by Saturday group clay-modelling workshops with the artist E. Valentinavičienė.

Eglė Valentinavičienė (b. 1989) graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a degree in ceramics and is currently a resident of the Užupis Art Incubator. This is the artist’s third solo exhibition. She enjoys revealing organic yet mystical figures in motion. The artist uses clay at the very edge of its possibilities, experiments freely, works without preliminary sketches, and often relies solely on intuition and chance.

The exhibition will run until January 16.
