Vienas kūrinys, pakeitęs Europos muzikos likimą. Ir išskirtinė proga jį išgirsti Šv. Kazimiero bažnyčioje!

Senosios muzikos ansamblis Canto Fiorito, vadovaujamas Rodrigo Calveyros, atliks Missa Papae Marcelli – garsiausias Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrinos mišias, kurios XVI a. padėjo išsaugoti polifoninę muziką Bažnyčioje. Kompozitorius jomis sugebėjo paneigti įsitikinimą, jog keli balsai, skambantys vienu metu trukdo suprasti tekstą, o pats kūrinys tapo polifonijos etalonu, įkvėpusiu ištisas kartas muzikų.

Greta pagrindinio šedevro skambės ir Palestrinos mokinių – Annibale Stabile, Asprilio Pacelli, Giovanni Francesco Anerio – kūriniai. Visi jie dirbo Vatikano bažnyčiose, o nuo XVI a. pabaigos kūrė muziką ir Vazų dvare.

EN: In commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the birth of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina

One work that changed the destiny of European music. And your exclusive chance to hear it performed at St Casimir’s Church!

The early music ensemble Canto Fiorito, directed by Rodrigo Calveyra, will perform Missa Papae Marcelli – Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina’s most famous mass, which helped preserve polyphonic music in the Church in the 16th century. The composer managed to use it to refute the conviction that several voices singing simultaneously interfere with being able to understand the text, while the work itself became a standard in polyphony, going on to inspire whole generations of musicians.

In addition to the main masterpiece, audiences will also be able to hear works by Palestrina’s pupils – Annibale Stabile, Asprilio Pacelli and Giovanni Francesco Anerio. They all worked at the Vatican’s churches, and created music at the court of the Vasas from the late 16th century.

So here you have a rare chance to transport yourself into an imagination-enriching past through an emotional time portal, created by the crystal-clear sounds of Canto Fiorito’s a cappella voices. Not to be missed!
