In 2004, a group of dedicated volunteers organized a Victoria Empty Bowls event. What began as a small gathering has
blossomed into an event that our community fully embraces and
generously supports. To date, Victoria Empty Bowls has raised over $288,000 benefiting the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent, Christ’s Kitchen, Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry (VCAM), Meals on Wheels South Texas, and JP’s Market@Victoria College.
Every bowl is created by local potters and Victoria College art students. Bowls obtained at the event often become prized
possessions, and picking just the right bowl is always a treasure hunt! Bowls are filled with soup creations of local chefs.
The next Victoria Empty Bowls event will be held on Sunday, February 8, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Victoria College Emerging Technology Complex.
Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world to raise money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in their communities.
Empty Bowls supports food-related charitable organizations around the world, and has raised millions of dollars to help end hunger.
Each event is locally organized and all proceeds stay in the local community.
