Jeff Insell is an experienced Set Decorator based in Victoria, BC, with a career in the film and television industry spanning back to 2017. He possesses a robust background in set decoration, buying, and dressing for a diverse range of productions, including feature films, television series, and movies of the week (MOWs). Jeff’s work is informed by a broad multidisciplinary background in the arts. He is a versatile creator with additional skills in fabrication, and he has professional experience as a visual artist, musician, actor, vocalist, and puppeteer. This diverse artistic foundation allows him to bring a unique, collaborative perspective to every set he decorates. Elliott Loran’s work in Set Decoration for Film began in 2018, with the roles of “Set Dresser”, “On Set Dresser” and “Buyer” for over 20 Front Street Productions/Hallmark movies of the Week (MOW’s) including the GLAAD Award winning Christmas House. Loran went on to work on a number of union productions as “On Set Dresser” (The Nanny, Phantom Pups, HOLIDAZED, Chesapeake Shores Season 6, FATE and more) before moving into the roles of “Assistant Decorator” (Casket Girls, A Christmas Less Travelled, The Fast Runner, Private Eyes West Coast Season 1, Watcha Want) and “Decorator” (Home Sweet Christmas). Loran’s work in Set Decoration also lead him to Production Design a short horror film for DOP and local legend Will McKnight (BOXED), as well as decorating a number of commercials for local creative and digital agency One Net Inc. (Wordscapes, Project Makeover and a series of Wednesday Addams “spoof” ads) Loran has also, along with his life partner and long time collaborator Jeff Insell, recently established Victoria Film Props, which caters to the Film and TV industry on Vancouver Island.
