- **Event Description**: Loving our Bodies as a Response to the Tensions and Terrors of the Modern Zeitgeist is an opportunity to engage in personal somatic healing in relation to living in response to oppression and hatred within the contemporary zeitgeist. By working on the microlevel, we can affect the meso and macro levels of our reality, and this activity is a way to alleviate the stressors and tensions in our collective today. 

Utilizing facilitated creative visualization and very gentle breath to assist participants in caring for their energetic and physical bodies, especially the parts of themselves they dislike or are critical of, we will work to create positive energy within and around ourselves - in a group, but independently.

The session will be guided by radical, ethical somatic practitioner, Vahini G, who works from a trauma informed lens.  As a counsellor, art therapist, and psychedelic therapist who has been in private practice since 2016 (a proud pre-pandemic therapist!).  she has been working full time as a therapist, holding groups on the South Island and working with individuals, couples and families.  she sees many queer and bipoc populations in her practice and has also worked as an educator in Masters of Counselling programs and currently with VATI with diploma and graduate level students.

The event is free, but donations supporting the venue are welcomed.
