Leaping off the Page: Visual Art in Literature - Pulp & Press has taken over the award-winning Prairie Ronde Artist Residency/Gallery to showcase illustration in literature. Meet the featured author/illustrators and experience the impact of their art in a thoughtfully curated exhibition and reception.
Book Trail - The Book Trail is a fun, interactive experience for festival visitors to meet and talk with authors while discovering the shops and businesses in the Village of Vicksburg. Over 30 authors from throughout the region will be located in host venues throughout the Village on a designated “trail”.
Japanese Stab Book Binding Workshop - Facilitated by Kalamazoo Book Arts, attendees will create a Japanese “stab bound” book. This binding style results in a soft-cover book featuring decorative stitching in the binding and does not require gluing. Decorative cover papers will be available. Finished books with blank pages can be used for drawing, writing, scrapbooking, or photographs.
Antique Printing Press Demonstrations - The Kalamazoo and St. Joseph River Valleys of Michigan were once host to the greatest concentration of paper mills in the world. Visit the Vicksburg Historical Village site for Pulp & Press Lit Arts Fest to learn more about this region and enjoy a demonstration on an antique Reliance moveable type printing press.
