From 8–12 September, Viborg Musiksal will host Øer—an audiovisual installation by Domenico Mannelli and Thorstein Robert, produced by Plastic Collective and Ensemble Advena.

Øer means “islands”—places that may appear separate, but are always connected by currents, migration, and exchange. 

Through a fusion of music, poetry and microscopic footage of marine life, the work unfolds as a spatial composition of sound and movement, where the invisible becomes visible.  Hidden ecosystems and unseen organisms become the starting point for a broader reflection on coexistence, interdependence, and the need to move beyond anthropocentric ways of thinking.  A reflection on our relationship with nature and with one another.  

Øer is aimed at festival visitors, art audiences and curious citizens alike, offering a rare opportunity to experience music merging with science and both digital and hand-crafted art.  Visitors leave with the sense of having entered another scale, and of being reminded that we are one part of a larger, interconnected whole.
