This workshop will teach how texture can create a lovely feeling and interesting elements within an art piece which traditional detailed painting does not achieve. The instructor will introduce different tools and mediums that will help to create different textures and depth into the painting including ink pallet knives and brushes. Students will learn the art of working with oil mediums to thin the paint and how to create ashes and then layer paint over them. At the end of the workshop all students will have created a unique art piece on a 16x20 canvas. Please note that a box larger than 16x20 is required for the last session to transport the painting home while it is still wet. This workshop takes place once a week for three weeks as the painting is detailed and requires several sessions to complete. Each class is approximately 3 hours long.
