12-Week Color Theory Beginner Watercolor Course - The Colors of the Four Seasons
Recommended Ages: Teen through Adult
Class Dates: Every Friday from January 16 through April 3, 2026 (12 sessions)
Time: 11am-2pm. Class times may vary from week to week depending on project.
Class Format: ONLINE via Zoom. A full supply list will be provided by e-mail at least 4 days in advance of the first class. Participants will receive a Zoom link via e-mail prior to each class session.
Activity Description: Join us for this unique and exciting 12-week watercolor painting course - The Color of the Four Seasons. We approach color theory in a fun way during this course. We will teach you to see color through the way light dances across the canvas. We teach you how to see the light and the color it casts plus how that color changes throughout the seasons. Whether it’s the warm glow of summer, cool winter blues, the new emerging greens as spring pushes through the ground or the earthly glow of autumn splendor….. this course teaches it all. Learning color theory does not have to be hard. We approach it over time and different courses allowing us to learn…. one painting at a time.
This course is appropriate for beginners and all levels interested in learning the fundamentals of color theory and watercolor painting. Throughout the course, an experienced instructor will guide students step-by-step through the painting process as they create four beautiful landscape paintings, each depicting one of the seasons of the year.
This workshop takes place once every week for twelve weeks. Each session is approximately 3 hours long but may take longer if needed. This is a total of 36 hours of instruction over the course of the workshop. We highly recommend attending all classes in the course, as each class builds on the last. However, we allow drop-ins for individual sessions.
