Since before the dawn of time, the peoples of Earth have gathered beneath the darkening winter skies, sharing their songs, chants and stories to honour our sun’s slow descent to its three‑day pause at the heart of winter, giving name to the ‘Winter Solstice’; or ‘when the winter sun-stands-still’. 

As the sun’s first rays begin to climb once more towards spring, lengthening the hours of daylight, we welcome the rebirth of the light of our greatest star together.

Earth Kin Events invites seekers of every faith—or none—to join this timeless rite around the blazing hearth of the Earthouse, housed in the Ancient Technology Centre, Cranborne. Feel the pulse of the earth, the rhythm of the drums, and the glow of the fire as the world turns toward brighter days.

The artists bringing you this year's Solstice Celebrations are:

Time: Doors, bar and craft stalls open: 6 pm. Formal celebrations start: 7:30 pm – a night of merry activities, music, and rituals to greet the returning light

All guests aged 12 years and up welcome!

Ages 12‑18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times
