Trauma Release Yoga Intensive

Completion of RYT200 is required. Since trauma is stored in the body, you will learn practices to release trauma, get in touch with your body and learn self-defense.

Learn practical women's self-defense techniques rooted in empowerment and personal safety. This group will introduce participants to physical and verbal self-defense skills they can easily remember, fostering confidence, boundary-setting, and body awareness in a trauma-informed, respectful, and affirming environment. Some skills participants can choose to practice involve yelling, hitting a pad with force, and respectful physical contact between participants or with the instructor. Bring your water bottle and come ready to move.

The instructor is a 3rd degree black belt in a mixed martial art and has 10+ years of various martial arts training as well as writing her Ph.D. Dissertation on the topic of women's self-defense. She currently runs the prevention education department of the Sexual Violence Resource Center of the Bluegrass, the rape crisis center that serves our county.
