- **Event Description**: Join us in Verona Park on Labor Day as we celebrate the 44th anniversary of the Verona Labor Day Classic, one of the oldest and best 5K races held in northern New Jersey. The 5K is a USATF-NJ 500 point grand prix event on a USATF certified course through the streets of Verona with a scenic finish in Verona Park. There is also a 1 mile fun run / health walk around Verona Park.

Registration for the 5K is $30 (April 1 - April 30), $35 (May 1 - June 30), $40 (July 1 - Sept 6) or $45 (Race Day). There is a $3 discount for for USATF members if you preregister. Registration for the 1 Mile  is $15 (April 1 - April 30), $20 (May 1 - Sept 6) or $25 (Race Day). 

T-shirts to all pre-registered entries if you sign up by August 1. While supplies last after August 1 and on race day. The adult shirts will be tech shirts again this year and available in both men's and women's sizes. The kids / youth shirts will be cotton T-shirts.

In person registration and early packet pickup at Fleet Feet Montclair (603 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair) on Sat, Sept 5 and Sun, Sept. 6 from Noon until 4:00 pm. Race day registration and packet pickup will begin at 8:00 am near the boathouse in Verona Park.

All registrations will be online only this year so please bring your smart phone to register at Fleet Feet  or on race day! You can pay online with a credit card  or we will also accept checks or cash. Please make all checks payable to: Verona UNICO.

Please note that registration will be closed if we reach the maximum capacity for an event (600 for the 5K, 200 for the 1 Mile).

Electronic chip timing of the 5K race by CompuScore. Awards and Fleet Feet Montclair gift certificates to the top 3 finishers in 5 year age groups. Running shoes presented by Fleet Feet Montclair to the 1st overall male and female winner. 

Bagels, fruit and other refreshments provided after the race at the finish area.

This race is organized entirely by volunteers from Verona UNICO and the Essex Running Club with all proceeds going towards local charities and scholarships! 

We are also looking for volunteers to help make it a safe and successful event. We especially need volunteers on race day to act as course marshals.
