- **Event Description**: On June 7, the Vernon community will come together at Polson Park for Ride Don’t Hide, a signature fundraising event in support of youth mental health in the North Okanagan. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to ride, walk, and gather in solidarity, helping break down stigma and show that youth mental health matters.

Funds raised through Ride Don’t Hide will support CMHA Vernon’s youth mental health services, including the Youth Integrated Support Hub (YISH). YISH is a welcoming, low‑barrier, community‑based model designed with young people, for young people. It provides early mental health supports, peer support, and help navigating health, social, and community services—before challenges escalate into crisis.

As demand for youth mental health services continues to grow, CMHA Vernon is also working toward opening Foundry North Okanagan in 2027. Building on the success of YISH, Foundry North Okanagan will bring mental health care, substance use supports, primary care connections, social services, and peer support together under one roof—making it easier for youth to access help sooner and closer to home. Ride Don’t Hide will play an important role in strengthening current supports while helping to build the foundation for this future hub.

Early support changes lives. Many mental health challenges begin before age 18, and timely, accessible care can prevent small challenges from becoming lifelong barriers. By taking part in Ride Don’t Hide, participants and sponsors are investing in the well‑being of young people and families across the North Okanagan.
