- **Event Description**: NOOC is a group of community minded citizens who have been sharing their time and talent throughout the North Okanagan for 14 1/2 years!  Hopefully you saw their Vernon Winter Carnival parade entry of their popular annual jam can curling event in action!  Numerous other events take place annually including the upcoming Vernon Regional Heritage Fair.  It will be held at the Schubert Centre on April 24 with students from Grades 4 to 6 showcasing everything 'Canadiana' - people, places and things.    Opening date for the Unplug & PLaY Boxes in 9 neighbourhood parks will be discussed and dates announced soon.  At this time, we would also like to extend our thanks to Kal Tire for their continued financial support of the PLaY Boxes.  SD22 Scholarship recipients will also be chosen soon from the many deserving students who apply.  New to our business agenda will be the addition of a light hearted component - Happy Thoughts – a time for members to share personal positive, funny, or just happy thoughts with the group in exchange for their donation to the Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation.  Not only are we an optimistic bunch but we also like to have fun!  More news will be forthcoming about our upcoming events and fundraisers as they are formalized.  Feel free to attend our monthly meeting and see for yourself how we continue to 'bring out the best in youth, our community and ourselves'. NEW members are always welcomed!
