Our Next Living Despite Meeting will be Wednesday November 26th from 1:00 - 2:30 PM at the Vernon Public Library
Join Amy Hamilton, experienced Canadian Certified Counsellor and fellow spoonie, for a talk about her experience living with ME/CFS and the counselling-based tools that have helped her and her clients navigate their ways towards recovery.
In this intimate, interactive chat, Amy will share evidence-informed tools that have proven effective for herself and others.
Amy, who 8 years ago was diagnosed with ME/CFS and was once bed bound and housebound, now enjoys a robust, fulfilling life, often symptom free, with her 2-year-old son and husband in Vernon, BC. With a Master of Counselling degree and over a decade of clinical counselling practice, she blends her formal training and her personal lived experience to support others in the transformational journey of healing so that they can live their best lives possible.
Amy has helped clients recover from Long-COVID, Fibromyalgia, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD). Many of her clients have secondary symptoms of chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. She is formally trained in Somatic Experiencing (a trauma-informed, body-based approach) and integrates aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Research, and Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work), into her work regularly.
We hope to see you there
