Spring Warbler Workshop with Adam Sell of Red Hill Birding

Warblers are the stars of the show in spring with their gaudy colors and unique patterns. We have nearly 30 that pass through the Chicago area in spring! Despite the beauty of these avian gems, views are often brief as they flit high in the canopy or behind dense foliage. This workshop aims to give the birder some tools to help identify these warblers in "real life" conditions.

Adam doesn't remember a time when a pair of binoculars wasn't around his neck. He was mentored by his father and other local birders in north Texas and later by the incredible birding community of the Chicagoland area. He is deeply involved in his local birding community, including time spent on the board of the Illinois Ornithological Society, as a member of the Illinois Ornithological Records Committee, and as coordinator of the Fort Sheridan Hawkwatch.
Adam is a natural teacher and, after spending a decade as a middle school teacher, has found guiding clients to be his preferred classroom. He joined Red Hill Birding full-time in 2022 after spending summers guiding across Central and North America. He now both organizes and guides tours around the globe, and works on the day-to-day operations of Red Hill Birding.

Lake County Audubon Society has a variety of speakers on the first Monday of the month October through May. All (including children accompanied by an adult) are welcome to come for the free programs and refreshments 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
