As Elizabeth reaches out for connection, the community’s small-minded prejudices turn isolation into cruelty, with devastating consequences. Told through a lyrical mosaic of shifting moments and characters, the play exposes how fear of difference can quietly become violence. Intimate, harrowing, and deeply human, Elizabeth’s story is a poetic call for compassion amid a culture of fear and intolerance.ABOUT THE AUDITIONSAuditions are by appointment only! We will be casting an ensemble of actors to play one or more roles. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the scripts. They will occur in person in the Studio Theatre (PAC 119) in the Performing Arts Center. Actors are highly encouraged to read the script before arriving to the audition.NOTE: Actors must attend at least one day of auditions and the callbacks to be cast. If this poses a problem, please contact the director for alternate arrangements.WHENTuesday, February 10 and Wednesday, February 11 from 4 to 7:00 PM each day in PAC 119 (Studio Theatre)Callbacks will occur Thursday, February 12 from 3:30 to 7:30 PM in PAC 119Again, auditions are by appointment only!ABOUT REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCESRehearsals will start February 23, 2026. The production will rehearse on Monday through Wednesday from 3:30 to 7:30 PM. Thusday rehearsals will alternate, butwill occur between 3:30 and 8:30 PM and last only three hours. Please review And They Dance Real Slow in Jackson Rehearsals and Performance Info.Due to the nature of the script, it will not be necessary for most actors to attend all four days of rehearsals. Depending on casting, cast members should expect to spend two to three days of the four rehearsing. Please be specific about your availability on the audition form.
