Ventura PD hosts Tip-a-Cop fundraiser for local Special Olympics athletes
Ventura, Calif. - The Ventura Police Department, in collaboration with Barrelhouse 101, is proud to host a Tip-a-Cop fundraiser supporting the athletes of Ventura County Special Olympics. The public is invited to join officers on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Barrelhouse 101, located at 545 E. Thompson Boulevard in Downtown Ventura.
Throughout the evening, Ventura Police officers will volunteer as guest servers alongside Special Olympics athletes and the Barrelhouse 101 team. Diners are encouraged to support the cause by leaving a “tip” donation, 100% of which goes directly to Special Olympics Southern California to fund year-round training and competitions for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Donation will be made separately at checkout to ensure contributions go straight to the cause without affecting the regular tips earned by restaurant staff.
“This event is a special opportunity to showcase a local business and connect with our community while supporting an incredible cause,” said Chief David Dickey. “Over the past two years, our team has raised over $11,000 at Tip-a-Cop events, and we hope to continue building on our past success. We’re grateful to Barrelhouse 101 for partnering with us and helping make this event possible.”
Tip-A-Cop fundraisers are part of a longstanding effort to raise awareness and support for the Special Olympics, which empowers athletes to build strength, confidence, and lifelong friendships.
