The pavilion's dramatic sweeping roofline has become one of Venice's most photographed structures and a defining feature of the city's beachfront. The Venice Beach Pavilion has a hyperbolic paraboloid shape, which is a continuous, flowing, double-curved surface used mainly in concrete skin roofs.
