What’s not allowed

• Consumption of food and drinks is not permitted inside the attraction.

• Photography, videography, and the use of flash, tripods, and camera equipment is strictly prohibited inside the basilica.

• Wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees as the basilica is a place of worship. Those wearing shorts, skirts, or tank tops will be refused entry.

• Backpacks, large bags, suitcases, and tote bags are not allowed inside the attraction.

• Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed.

Accessibility

St. Mark’s Basilica

• The basilica is mostly wheelchair friendly with dedicated entrances, ramps, and lifts available for easy movement.

• However, the Loggia dei Cavalli Terrace is not wheelchair accessible due to steep and uneven terrain.

St. Mark’s Bell Tower

• The Campanile is wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible with an elevator taking you to the top of the tower.

Additional notes

• To best appreciate the mosaics, visit the St. Mark’s Basilica between 11:30am and 12:45pm on weekdays or during liturgical celebrations on Sunday and holiday, when it is specially illuminated.
