It is a great honor and privilege to invite you to the 20th International Memorial Tournament in
honor of Nestl Žgank, which will take place on February 22, 2026, in the Red Hall, Velenje.
The Karate Club Tiger Velenje proudly continues its more than 30-year tradition.
Throughout this time, the club has won ten national championship titles, nurtured many outstanding
athletes, and achieved three European medals, two fifth places at World Championships, and
numerous top results at the European level.
Our story began in 1994, when, after many years as a competitor and at the encouragement of my
students, I founded my own club – then known as Karate Club Rudar Velenje, later renamed to Karate
Club Tiger Velenje.
Today, karate continues to unite us through generations, families, and our shared dedication to the
values of respect, discipline, and inner strength.
To all participants, I wish you a memorable experience at this jubilee event, filled with the true
spirit of sportsmanship that connects people regardless of age, gender, or belief.
May this tournament bring new friendships, great achievements, and lasting memories.
