Ready to take your pottery skills to the next level? In this three-part class series, you’ll dive into larger projects and advanced techniques while still having plenty of room for creativity.
With up to 3 pounds of clay, you can make 2–3 pieces such as a big serving bowl, a casserole with handles, mugs, tumblers, steins, lidded jars, citrus juicers—and so much more. The possibilities are endless!
Love what you’re making? Extra projects, after your first three, are available for just $40 each.
This class is perfect for potters who already know how to center, open, and pull up walls—and are ready to push their skills further. (This is not a beginner class.)
Along the way, you’ll explore:
Taller cylinders and bold new forms
Unique rims and enhanced bowl designs
Handles that are both beautiful and functional
Glaze layering, wax resist, and creative surface finishes
Trimming tricks, kiln safety, and even how to load the kiln
Come prepared to stretch your creativity, get a little messy, and walk away with pottery that’s as fun as it is functional.
About the Learning Process
Wheel throwing is a skill that develops over time. No one creates a perfect piece on their first, second or even third try, but every step forward is worth celebrating! Think of each class as a building block toward greater confidence and creativity at the wheel.
3 Class Session Schedule:
Saturday, Nov. 15th 10:00 to 1:00
Wednesday, Nov. 19th 6:00 to 9:00
Saturday, Dec. 6th 2:00 to 5:00
The $179 cost includes:
Clay, tools, and materials
Two kiln firings

What to Bring & Wear
Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (clay washes out easily).
Apron (optional but helpful).
Long hair tied back, and rings/bracelets removed.
Short nails are ideal, but not required.

Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled
Registration allows for 1 person per class. Only those who have registered may participate.
Class starts promptly as scheduled.
At ARTworks Vass, you're always welcome to bring your own Nibbles and Sips to class.
You will be notified when your project is ready to pick up. We will hold it for 90 days with monthly notifications by text or phone. If you haven't requested an extension or picked up your work within 90 days, your project will be disposed of at the gallery's discretion.
