In this concert, love acts as a guide and invites listeners at times to slow down as well. The concert can be experienced in the traditional way, seated, or, if preferred, by resting on a church pew or on a sleeping mat on the floor (the festival will provide mats for the first 50 people). Medieval poetry and the nuanced colours of the music open a new world in our imagination, one that may delight, surprise, or calm us.

The versatile instrumentation of Duo Medieval, formed by Anneliina Rifi and Uli Kontu-Korhonen, enriches the singing and brings powerful echoes from the past. Their instruments include Gothic harp, recorder, symphonia, crumhorn, psaltery, foot percussion, organetto, dulcimer, and tambourine.
