Experience some of the most stunning fall foliage in Texas on this 12.5-mile moderate hike for the practiced hiker, through Lost Maples State Natural Area. Our route takes us along steep, rugged limestone canyons, across scenic plateau grasslands, and past sparkling springs, giving a full taste of the park’s diverse landscapes.
Along the way, we’ll visit the iconic “Monkey Rock” formation and enjoy countless opportunities for breathtaking views and photography. The vibrant autumn colors, dramatic terrain, and unique rock formations make this hike a true seasonal highlight.
If you’ve never explored Lost Maples in the fall, this adventure is the perfect way to see why it’s considered one of Texas’s most beautiful state parks. Expect a day full of nature, challenge, and unforgettable scenery.
Pro tip: Have your day pass reservation printed out and with you, and arrive before 8:00am to breeze into the park and not wait in line to “check-in”.
