Recycled Scarecrow Contest 2025

Calling all Fayette County 4-H Clubs! It's time for our Recycled Scarecrow Contest!! Join in on the fun with this club contest as we begin the new 4-H year. Show off your creativity with a 4-H scarecrow this fall! The winning club gets an ice cream party at one of your club meetings!

Rules & Submission Info

• All Entries must be at least 80% recycled, reclaimed, and/or reused materials.
• Participate as a club for 4-H Week and win an ice cream party at one of your club meetings! (Only Fayette County 4-H clubs are eligible for the ice cream party prize.)
• Scarecrows need to be in place and photo submissions are due by NOON on Wednesday, October 1st.
• Scarecrows must have a sign next to them with the name of the 4-H club that built them. (You can also use this as a way to advertise your club!)
• Winners will be announced after the judging committee has had a chance to review all the entries, and all photos will be posted to the Fayette County 4-H Facebook page and U of I Extension website.
• Scarecrows must be removed from their location by November 1st.
