Kaskaskia College is hosting the NAEMT Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Provider Course, a nationally recognized, evidence-based trauma education program designed for prehospital emergency care providers at both Basic and Advanced levels.
PHTLS emphasizes critical thinking, rapid trauma assessment, and sound clinical decision-making to improve patient outcomes in the prehospital environment. The course is developed in partnership with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.

β’ Scene size-up and provider safety
β’ Airway, breathing, and ventilation management
β’ Hemorrhage control and shock management
β’ Spinal motion restriction and immobilization
β’ Multisystem trauma care
β’ Patient stabilization and transport considerations

β’ EMRs and EMT-Basics
β’ EMT-Advanced providers
β’ Paramedics
β’ Nurses and clinicians involved in prehospital care
β’ Fire, police, and rescue personnel

β NAEMT PHTLS Provider certification card issued upon successful completion
