Kaskaskia College is hosting the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Provider Course, a nationally recognized, evidence-based trauma education program designed for emergency care providers at both Basic and Advanced levels.
ITLS blends classroom instruction with hands-on skills and realistic scenarios to prepare participants to rapidly identify and manage life-threatening traumatic injuries across a wide range of patient populations.

β’ Trauma scene size-up and safety
β’ Systematic trauma patient assessment
β’ Hemorrhage control and shock management
β’ Airway and ventilation interventions
β’ Management of traumatic cardiac arrest
β’ Chest, abdominal, and extremity injuries
β’ Spinal column and spinal cord trauma
β’ Special considerations (burns, pediatric, geriatric, pregnancy)
β’ Mass casualty incident response

β’ EMT-Basic and First Responders
β’ Advanced EMTs and Paramedics
β’ Trauma Nurses and Emergency Department staff
β’ Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants
β’ Other prehospital or hospital clinicians involved in trauma care

β Eligible for continuing education hours (per state and agency guidelines)
β ITLS Provider certification card issued upon successful completion
