Fayette County 4-H invites you to join our Cake Decorating Series!!
Where creativity meets confectionery artistry! Whether you're a beginner eager to learn the basics or an experienced decorator looking to refine your skills, this series offers something for everyone. Each session is filled with fun and learning as we explore various techniques, from piping decorative design to designing themed cakes. You'll have the opportunity to showcase your creations, participate in friendly competitions, and share tips with fellow enthusiasts. Come and be a part of a supportive community where your passion for cake decorating can flourish!
Participants will be responsible for bringing the following items: set of piping tips (round, star, petal, and leaf), apron, and two 8" round cakes (uniced and untrimmed) for the April 64th meeting. All other materials will be provided. Optional items to bring: turntable, additional piping tips, metal icing spatula, cake leveler. (Amazon has many inexpensive options for beginner cake decorating kits.)
When: Thursday, April 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.
Where: University of Illinois Extension office in Fayette County. 118 N 6th St., Vandalia, IL
Cost: Free!
Open to youth ages 8 - 18. Register by March 24th in order to participate.
