Playing with labyrinth 'seeds' and 'magic squares, we'll make and walk a classical labyrinth. With music and snacks!
In this participatory salon we’ll explore the 4,000-year history of labyrinths, an ancient form found in cultures around the world, with some astonishing similarities despite geographical distance. We’ll play with line drawings of labyrinth ‘seeds’ and the surprising mathematical possibilities that grow from them, and also explore the beauty of ‘magic squares’ and their potential connections. Together we’ll create a large-scale labyrinth in chalk on the floor and then walk and dance this ancient path, experiencing the ways these mysterious patterns affect us. With live music, tea & lanterns!
